Strong Growth in Exports Brought Lojer a Record Year
Hospital and treatment equipment manufacturer and marketer Lojer Group made a record sales and profit during the financial year 2012. In the financial year ending in September 2012 Lojer achieved a turnover of 21.8m €, a growth of 17% over the previous financial year. During this period the Sastamala-based company saw a profit of 2.1m € (+58%).
“Our record profit was partly due to dramatic growth in exports outside the EU. During the year we won a number of large projects, particularly in the CIS countries and Russia. Around 60% of our turnover comes from abroad, and during the last financial year we have exported our products to over 50 countries. In all, Lojer's products are now in use in over 100 countries,” says Lojer's Managing Director Ville Laine.
Laine says that of all the products Lojer manufactures and sells, there has been particularly high demand for operating tables, hospital beds and treatment tables used in physiotherapy. He emphasises that during the last two financial years the company's turnover has grown almost 50%. This has also had a positive effect on employment. ”During the past two years we have created jobs for almost 30 people in Finland, and our order backlog remains strong. We are currently also investing around 2m€ in our facilities in Sastamala in order to raise our production capacity”, Laine reveals.
