Finnish design victorious in international Red Dot competition
Merivaara’s medical lights awarded with Red Dot design award
Merivaara is thrilled to announce that its new medical lights, Merivaara Q-Flow 1 and Q-Flow 2, have been honored with the prestigious Red Dot Product Design Award for 2024. This recognition highlights Merivaara's commitment to excellence and innovation in medical equipment design: “The Q-Flow 1 and Q-Flow 2 lamps not only allow for true-to-life colour rendition, but also impress with their ergonomics and flexible application possibilities.” highlights the jury of the competition.
The Red Dot Award is an international design award given annually to outstandingly designed products in various categories. The award is presented at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany, and is one of the most prestigious design awards in the world. The award is given to products that stand out for their innovative design, usability and visual appeal. The winners are selected by an international jury of experts and it is one of the most prestigious design awards in the world. Winning products are entitled to use the "Red Dot" -label. Merivaara's award-winning products emerged as the winners amongst thousands of entries from 60 countries.
Merivaara's Q-Flow 1 examination lamp and the Q-Flow 2 minor surgical lamp are designed for small surgical operations performed outside main operating rooms. Q-Flow 1 and Q-Flow 2 utilize the technology of the large Q-Flow surgical lights, where excellent tissue color rendition is an essential feature. The light heads can be easily connected to arms optimized for different procedures, which improves the ergonomics of the healthcare staff. The new lamps of the Q-Flow product series can be used with one hand: this improves patient safety, as the user can keep the other hand clean for patient treatment. Smooth design of splash proof enclosure ensures efficient cleaning of the product.
